Health help is just a click away
The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) has launched a Click-to-Talk function on its Web site, www.dmc.org, as a service enhancement to its Health Access center. You enter your phone number and the DMC calls you, at their expense. Consumers can choose to talk to a nurse, get help finding a doctor, or schedule an X-ray, test or doctor’s appointment. The call center is staffed by registered nurses and available 24/7.

Patients needed for bladder pain study
Henry Ford Hospital is seeking patients for a study on treatment for painful bladder syndrome (PBS). The cause of the disease is not known, there is no cure, and treatment is mostly experimental and ineffective. The condition affects both men and women of any race or age, although it is more common in women.

Patients may qualify for this study if they are 18 years of age or older, have increased daytime and nighttime urinary frequency, have lower abdominal/pelvic pain that occurs when the bladder gets full, and do not have a urinary tract infection. The study has three phases. All visits, study medication and tests will be provided at no cost to the patient or health insurance provider.
